Litteriada, the 4th year of the international literary festival, will take place on September 28 – 30, 2016. Pectus as a publishing house together with the Conservatorie in Košice, Zemplín Library in Trebišov and Podduklianska Library in Svidník prepared the presentation of domestic and foreign authors within this event.

Authors who will present their literary works are the novelist Zdenko Fajčák and the poet Marián Hatala from Slovakia, Karl Grenzler from Germany, and Stefan Jurkowski and Marek Petrykowski from Poland. Literary cafés or author talks create essential part of the festival, therefore they will take place in Košice, Trebišov and Svidník. During these talks readers have the opportunity to buy an anthology Litteriada 2016 consisting of literary extracts of authors presenting at this festival. Extracts of foreign authors are here translated into the Slovak language.
Slovak authors will present and reveal stories behind their recently published books. Marián Hatala will reveal secrets of his book of poetry “Insomnia or Plus Minus Four Walls” and Zdenko Fajčák will present his collection of short stories called “Without a Space Bar”. Visitors can enjoy the literary and musical series Musicus Poesis, prepared from the literary works of these authors. The concert will be led under the auspices of Marta Vilhanová acting at the Conservatorie in Košice.
The main objective of Litteriada is to promote the literature of minority genres, creating occasions and implementing activities aiming at its distribution among the readers and keeping mainly the sense of aesthetics. The festival offers the increase of public interest into belles-lettres through the active cooperation of authors, translators, critics; presents the literary works of domestic and foreign authors within the Slovak artistic context; gets to know the nature and creative potential of original and translated literature in the context of dialogue with readers; develops mutual relations and contacts at the international level for further cooperation in the literary and artistic field. The festival is supported by the Slovak Arts Council by public funds.
