We accept authors’ manuscripts for potential book publication exclusively in electronic form. We ask you to be patient while manuscripts are reviewed. The response will be limited to a statement of acceptance or rejection with no mention of the reasons why the manuscript has or has not fulfilled the demanding criteria for the publishability of literary texts. The opinions of our specialist staff are nevertheless strictly related to the assessment of the value of a work in the context at least of European literature.
Since there is much more interest of authors in publication of a handwriting in our publishing house, we are bringing useful information on the basis of which they can decide how to proceed. Mainly they should write us whether a book should be published with our publishing house logo or not.
1. If yes, handwriting in Word file format must be sent to our email address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for its expert opinion. If it doesn’t meet the requirements of the publishing house, it won’t be published under any circumstances. You can expect the answer in 6 months. Authors have to realize that the publishing house is focused on the valuable (artistic) fiction at least of European format and not on the non-fiction (commercial) literature. Authors, who have decided to finance the publication of a work or who have found the sponsor, have a priority right to the expert opinion of a work. They usually get the answer in 3 months. In the case of accepting the handwriting and its financing by the publishing house, its publication will be ensured usually in 2 years from the acceptance notice. By making an announcement that the handwriting is accepted, publishing house does not guarantee to the author that it will manage to ensure the publication of the work in 2 years. It will sign a publishing contract with the author only when it manages to ensure all the financial means for the publication of his work. Book advertising, its distribution and sale is ensured by the publishing house under the standard conditions, as in the case of other published books.
2. If the book is not going to be published with our publishing house logo, publication created on the basis of the specific client’s order and according to his requirements won’t be assigned ISBN through our publishing house. In such a case, publishing house, on the basis of sent PDF files of the book interior and cover, is not responsible for the content of printed book or for the quality of its printing connected with sent files. Author can ask the Slovak National Library for ISBN and in the form on the library’s pages he must state, except for specification, that it is a publication by own costs. Author can give up even the smallest part of the costs to the publishing house for unofficial market; possibly he can give up greater part of the costs for sale or return. Exact conditions of rebate will be settled in the delivery note. Publishing house will at most ensure the sending of compulsory copies. After the agreement with author, publishing house can send the advertising and review copies to editorial offices and other media. In principle, publishing house does not promote such an author. In extraordinary cases, for example when a qualified professional publication is concerned, publishing house can ask for ISBN. However, the publication won’t be included in publishing house Editorial works.
You can ask for the price offer of the print and other graphic works before the print (mainly DTP of the book cover and interior) on email address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and when you are ordering the print of the book, you have to specify the client’s address, author and title of the book, book format, colouring of the cover and interior, number of pages, kind of the book binding and costs. We can’t work out the basic price offer for you without these information.
After accepting the price offer, an invoice will be send to you by email and you have to pay it in advance. Author can anytime resign from works on the book and ask for a refund of payment made in advance. In such a case, publishing house will immediately return the payment cut by works made according to the price list.
